Bathrooms & Kitchens by Design Ltd

Neil and the team recently installed a new bathroom in my two-bedroom house. As this was my only bathroom and toilet, the whole process could have been stressful, but everyone involved made it easy. The plumbers (Asad and Mark), the tiler, and the electricians (Richard and Thomas) were all friendly, hardworking, and very accommodating throughout. I needed to leave them in the house unattended and provided a key; they locked up properly each day and I felt completely at ease leaving them in my home. The quality of the work is excellent and I’m really happy with the finished bathroom. There were a couple of minor issues, but they came back promptly to fix them. We also needed time to paint before the final bits were completed, and they returned a few days later without any problem. Communication was good throughout and I genuinely can’t fault them. They’re a local company and I think it’s important to support local businesses. Overall, I’m very happy with the experience. See photos.

Our new kitchen project was excellently managed throughout. Neil first visited the house to talk through ideas and take measurements. We then attended the showroom for a personal consultation, where Neil presented us with a design and we were able to choose the units, appliances and fittings. Work began within weeks. The electricians and plasterers appeared exactly on schedule, ensuring the build was completed within the estimated two weeks. All the tradesmen were highly skilled and extremely polite. A special mention to our fitter Andy, whose skills have produced a lovely kitchen we are delighted with.

I engaged BKBD to complete my new bathroom based on a recommendation. Neil from BKBD arrived and was very personable and seemed to know what he was doing. Price was set, the company was engaged and then that's where the problems start and continue to this day. The installation of the tiles went well and the electricians and tiler were excellent. The bath was the wrong size, the downstairs radiator looked like it had been thrown in from the street, the sink deglazed, the positioning of the vanity unit right next to the bath panel meaning you could not access under the bath was a joke, the covering over the toilet pipe looked like it had been done by a toddler and the sealing was awful. What was supposed to take a week, took four weeks. The temerity of Neil to demand full price for the shocking sequence of events was utterly breathtaking. In the end, a price was reluctantly agreed but more I suspect, from the other managing partners input, Andy, who I found to be professional and friendly. I took no issue with his work. Since that date, the paint is peeling, the bath plug doesn't work, the shower seal was faulty and the bathroom cabinet is curling up and swelling at the ends. This I'm led to believe is my fault despite the initial position of the cabinet being right next to the bath. The cabinet is made of painted wood and clearly shouldn't be positioned where it was. Neil, refuses to take responsibility. A position he takes when things do not go his way. Stay away from this company. The quality of goods are not fit for purpose and the service depends on who actually fits your bathroom. This company are not cheap but the front face of this company is. I do not include Pete the tiler whose work was excellent, nor Andy who had to rectify all the god awful mistakes as best he could. He, however, cannot make a poor product do what it is not capable of doing. Beware

I was unable to use my old shower after it had cut out on me and I put off for 6 months having the builders in to my house causing disruption but what a mistake that was I just wish now that I had the work done sooner! I can honestly say from start to finish it has been a pleasure to have the BKBD team in my home to create by new very fancy en-suite! From the first day Neil came to measure up, create the design and book in a date, his service has been second to none! All the guys turned up on time, were polite, cleaned up after themselves and completed an amazing job all round. Asad faced some challenges along the way with my pipework under floor but he took on the challenge and found the best solution to suit my design. (Special shout out to Asad for going that extra mile!) This company really cares about the work they are completing and the satisfaction of their customer. As you can see from the photo's the final result is amazing, I'm so pleased with it! All their products are of a high quality but good value. You will find me sat on my new toilet for hours admiring the view. I can't thank the whole team enough and I cannot recommend BKBD enough. I'm sure to be back requesting your services with my next project x
