We can’t recommend Kensington Scott highly enough. From the very first survey visit they solved a problem that several building teams had told us simply wasn’t possible. There was a drain in the way, and where others walked away, Kensington Scott took us through it. They sorted out a build-over agreement and found a way to create a room that would otherwise never have existed. The whole process was a pleasure. We were kept in the loop at every stage, told exactly when the busy and quiet periods would be, and they came up with several ways to bring the project forward. They even sent us a “What to Expect” document at the start, which made a real difference in knowing what was coming and when. Stef was wonderful, always in touch and quick to help with anything. Mark was on hand whenever something needed solving, and Jamie and Dannielle on the design team gave us the wow factor we were hoping for. We absolutely love our new space. It’s brought us together as a family and we spend so much more time in it. We’ve already recommended Kensington Scott to friends and family, and we’re now planning a bedroom project with them too. We do not recommend using this company. Here is why. We had three rooms renovated, including moving our kitchen into another room. The project took 26 weeks; we were told 12 weeks. In our experience, this was due to an absence of project management. There were multiple periods where nothing happened. The ordering of work often felt inefficient and haphazard. Week after week, we found ourselves having to chase updates about what was happening next and then frequently pushing for what seemed like sensible coordination between trades. Snagging issues were not identified proactively, and were not checked thoroughly. When we raised concerns, rather than feeling that there was a genuine desire to put things right and move forward constructively, our experience was often one of defensiveness and prolonged negotiation. The process became exhausting. There was a lack of care, diligence and accountability, and at times our attempts to stay informed and involved in our own project were treated as intrusive. Communication at times felt rude and dismissive, which was particularly disappointing given the emphasis placed on customer care in the company’s branding and marketing. The most serious issue has emerged after completion. We have now discovered that the company failed to obtain the necessary safety and building compliance certification for major aspects of the build, including the electrics and building control application, despite stating on their website that they provide all building certification, and despite verbal and marketing assurances that everything they delivered would be safe and compliant, and that such certification would be in place at the end of the project. We are now having to pursue a retrospective building regulation process ourselves and chase the electrical company for safety compliance certification, nearly 8 months after the work was completed. Furthermore, despite requesting project documentation so that we can progress matters independently, most of our requests have been ignored. The absence of records and supporting evidence means there is now a possibility that invasive inspection works could be required to verify compliance, potentially resulting in high additional costs and further disruption to us as homeowners. At no point during the build were we informed by KS of these risks or advised that retrospective approval could later become necessary. The overall experience has, unfortunately, overshadowed what should have been an exciting project for our home. The matter of lack of compliance and professionalism has been logged with Trading Standards. For a company that strongly markets itself as customer-focused, our experience fell far short of what was promised. We would urge anyone considering using them to carry out very careful due diligence at contracting and look beyond the sales narrative and polished online image.

I recently completed a full kitchen renovation and couldn’t be happier with the result. From the initial design consultation through to the final installation, the team were professional, responsive and incredibly detail-oriented. They listened carefully to what I wanted and kept me updated throughout the project. This even included the first 2 weeks whilst I was out of the country. I felt reassured that my house was in safe hands and had zero concerns. The workmanship was excellent - everything has been finished to a high standard. The project stayed on scheduled, in fact was ahead of schedule at certain points. The installers were respectful and tidy. Any issues were handled quickly and professionally. They couldn’t do enough to ensure I was satisfied. My new kitchen has completely transformed into a beautiful space that I m proud to show off. I literally find myself standing in there just staring at how perfect it is. I would highly recommend Kensington Scott to anyone looking for a high quality kitchen project with customer service.

My kitchen renovation was part of a larger extension and home renovation project, and the journey from my first meeting with Jamie in the showroom over a year ago to the final installation has been a long one. But from the outset, Mark, Jamie, and Claire provided exceptional guidance, innovative ideas, and—of course—many cups of coffee to ensure the success of the project. I actually miss my regular drives to the showroom! Before I even committed to the kitchen, Mark personally visited my property to offer advice on the overall renovation. His insights were invaluable, particularly in relation to the larger extension, and he introduced me to an excellent structural engineer who helped ensure the entire project was executed smoothly. This level of attention and care gave me the confidence to move forward, knowing I was in safe hands. Although we faced some bumps along the way—most notably the unfortunate demise of the original kitchen manufacturer—Mark and Jamie quickly presented an alternative option that included a stunning walk-in corner pantry, solving a storage issue whilst looking as if it was always a part of the original design. The new kitchen features modern shaker-style cabinets in a striking dark emerald green, complemented by smooth antique gold handles. A glass tambour unit adds a sleek touch, and the large quartz-topped island—complete with an inset hob and ceiling extractor—has completely transformed my previously outdated 1990s kitchen into a stylish, elegant, and highly functional open-plan modern space. The heart of the kitchen is definitely the island. It's perfectly designed for cooking prep, casual dining, and entertaining, and it has quickly become a gathering spot for family and friends while I cook. Despite the inevitable ups and downs, including design revisions and supplier changes, the dedication from the entire team made all the difference. I’ve received countless compliments on the colour and design, and I genuinely enjoy being in the kitchen again! A huge thank you to Mark, Jamie, Claire, Iain, and plumber Mark for making this dream a reality. In the end, the long journey was absolutely worth it, and I’m beyond thrilled with the final result. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kensington Scott Interiors for your next project.
