Many may not have heard about Kutchenhaus Kitchens Stevenage but my wife doing many hours of research unearthed this gem just off the Stevenage A1M junction 7. We had initially thought that we may not be able to afford what was clearly a premium product made in Germany with its exacting qualities and build. Not a large kitchen but as this would form a key part of our home, combining, kitchen, dining and living we wanted this to look and feel right. All units came fully assembled and for our kitchen fitter his comments were that this was an extremely well thought out kitchen and it was one of the best made kitchens he had fitted. All cabinets with doors pre-fitted. Doors easy to install and remove from units with a click. Concealed LED strip lighting plus hidden under cupboard cabinet lights. Work top mitre pre-cut in the factory. The velvet smooth drawer closure mechanisms, kick board brackets and fit with silicone beaded edges to seal the floor. The floor end panels coming with formed boots at their base to prevent moisture warping the units. All great features. We opted for a mix of handle and handless units in two colours, Sand and Terra, in our view a perfect match. Matched with bronze handles, very different to what we had seen by other manufactures. So yes, much to be appreciated over the quality of the units and their build. But I have to underline the experience we had with the team at Stevenage. Chris, our kitchen designer and sales was our first point of contact, and I have to say has been with us every step of the way through the build.. It was not simply about the sale and taking the money. Jean, (French Pronounced ) came to measure for the final build, producing as part of the standard service fully comprehensive MEP drawings so all electric switch’s, power outlets and plumbing points, were planned to the inch for the electrical and plumbing first fix. Five Separate drawings showing different view elevations for the different wall and Island fixtures. And yes Jean was extremely approachable and accessible to answer any technical questions I had. Lastly, to mention Zunair, the owner of the business who was very visible and supportive. We also purchased our beautiful bronze mirror splash back through Chris as part of the service. This was templated by the specialist Company following the fixing of the worktop and wall cupboards and perfectly finishes off the look. Did we have any issues, ‘yes’ we had a faulty dishwasher supplied by Neff. A rare occurrence based on Neff’s reputation, but within a few days we had a replacement with Zunair personally picking up the faulty unit. A lot to be said when the business owner is hands on and cares about his clients. If looking into purchasing a new kitchen, you have to look at their kitchen ranges. Where we thought this would be out of our price range, we found that they were extremely competitive and that’s based against so many of the usual outlets. But then, you get so much more…. The Product scores 5 stars but above all it’s the service that truly makes the difference and for this element we rate the Customer service experience 5 stars.
