Mother Hubbards Cupboards

We first got in touch with Mother Hubbard's Cupboards after discussing kitchens with our neighbour. They mentioned that they were having theirs repainted after having it installed nearly 20 years ago and that it was still going strong. They mentioned they had it made by Mother Hubbard's Cupboards and how John still sent them a Christmas card every year. We got in touch with John, and it became very clear that he really did have a passion for making excellent kitchens. He thought about every process of the design, and he really took the time to ensure he understood what we wanted. It would be fair to say that we were quite particular with our preferences, both in the appearance and the practicalities. It would also be fair to say I don't think we were the easiest customers for John, however he was so incredibly accommodating. He listened to all of our ideas, all of our options, and we think he integrated them as best as practically possible. Richard was incredible with his fitting, and you could really tell that he took pride in his work and insisted that it was done correctly. Our kitchen is still going strong two years after it was fitted, and you wouldn't even be able to tell it wasn't brand new. Everything is a joy to use. It still looks fantastic, and it genuinely is our favourite room in the whole house. John went above and beyond to deliver the kitchen that we wanted. We would recommend him in a heartbeat, and should we ever need to get a kitchen designed by him again, we wouldn't hesitate.

We have been lucky enough to have just had our second kitchen fitted by John and his team at Mother Hubbards. The 1st was in 2008 and we really didn’t think that their service could be improved upon. We were wrong! John’s designs have become even better over time, the brief was difficult as I wanted an island in a kitchen that I knew deep down wasn’t big enough. However with some clever designing by John and some clever installation by Richard they made it happen and it looks fantastic. We are absolutely delighted with it . It is a classic design but with all the mod cons that a kitchen should have . John designed a Butlers pantry, we didn’t know what this was 3 months ago but now can’t live without. Richards attention to detail when fitting the kitchen was perfect and consistent throughout, to the extent that our decorator commented on this and told us that even the finish on the top of the cupboards was perfect and said it was of the nicest and best fitted kitchens he has ever seen. For us the best bit was that John project manages everything, Richard comes when he says he is going to and is so reliable. The time frame that we were given was realistic despite it being such a big job (kitchen moved to another room and a utility room put in). The “Andys” electrician and plumber were also brilliant. I have heard so many horror stories about kitchens being done and can honestly say that we have never had any problems either time. Perhaps the initial quote may be slightly higher than elsewhere but there are no hidden costs, the work is done when it says it’s going to be done and it was a pleasure to have Richard working in the house. The last time we didn’t even bother getting any other quotes as we knew that we wanted John and his team to fit our kitchen and are so glad that they did. Thank you so much John, Richard and team ☺️

We had a kitchen designed by John & put in by Richard 2014 , which has been great . However this week (Jan. 26 ) We had to get in touch with John,as we had trouble with the ‘slider’ on a drawer containing plates etc. . & was unable to use the drawer . John sent Richard out this morning & he fixed it with no problems. John did not want any payment for this as he said it was part of their customer service .(We did expect this ). We cannot recommend John & his team highly enough . Thank you

We cannot recommend highly enough John and his team. This is our second kitchen from John. John provided a very personal service with excellent advice and attention to detail at the planning stage. This continued at the installation stage with workmanship, again excellent. We are delighted with everything and love it. Can't wait for end results.

From the start to the finish out experience working with Mother Hubbard has been extremely positive. Richard & John invested significant time to ensure they had an exact and precise understanding of our needs. The design was outstanding, transforming our kitchen space like the Tardis in Dr. Who. The build that followed was planned and executed well with seamless transitions between the various trades. All minor issues were taken in their stride and resolved promptly always to our satisfaction. The result is stunning. The ergonomic nature of the design and the effortless flow it delivers makes cooking in our kitchen a pleasure. We highly recommend Richard & John from Mother Hubbard.
