I have nothing but praise for Mowlem & Co. Ours was a complicated project, which involved the main kitchen, a Prep Kitchen (for my Husband who was a chef), and a Boot Room. Functionality was as important as aesthetics and Lois at the Newcastle Showroom, helped us every step of the way. Every detail was perfected and the standard of workmanship was incredible. We had an incredible experience with Mowlem & Co from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we felt reassured that we would get the result that we were hoping for in terms of quality and design. We have a long and narrow kitchen and wanted to fit both an island and a dining table into our space. Mowlem were the only people to come up with a way of doing this which was both practical and beautiful and built a beautiful corner bench seat with storage to use with our dining table. The first design that Lois came up with was absolutely perfect for us and we felt like she listened to us and really understood what we were looking for. The design experience was exactly what we had hoped for in that it was collaborative and well organised and we were taken through decisions step by step so that it didn't ever feel overwhelming. Lois and Julia were great about giving their suggestions and feedback about things that would work and wouldn't work in our space and in the more practical elements of the design. They were also great about helping us find ways of bringing the overall cost down by making some small changes to the design and finish of our laundry room. We were always kept up to date with timeframes of our project so that our expectations were managed and we could arrange other contractors. Chris who did the install was absolutely meticulous and did an amazing job in addition to being very tidy and a pleasure to have around. Lois and Julia visited the site several times during the install to ensure that everything went to plan. We love the finished kitchen and utility room, the quality of the cabinetry is so good and we wouldn't hesitate to use them for any future projects in our home.

Buying a new kitchen is quite daunting as it’s a big investment. As soon as we walked into the showroom in Jesmond, we knew we wanted a Mowlem kitchen. We had been to so many other showrooms and were disappointed by the quality. With the guidance and advice from their designer Lois, we are now the very delighted owners of a truly fabulous kitchen. Every stage from beginning to end was seamless and stress free. Lois sorted everything and was exceedingly patient with us as we decided on the final design. Their fitter Chris was very talented and a true perfectionist. He was also very tidy which was a bonus. The quality of the drawers and units is exceptional. Every time I walk into my kitchen I’m blown away. It really has the wow factor we were searching for. Unreservedly recommend.

FIRST CLASS DESIGN; EXCELLENT ATTENTION TO CLIENT REQUIREMENTS AND DETAIL; FABULOUS BESPOKE, QUALITY CABINETRY = OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION FOR MOWLEM & CO. After undertaking painstaking research and visiting several kitchen companies we eventually chose one close to home, Mowlem & Company. The deciding factor was definitely the professional finish of the design, initially viewed on a large screen. Plus the un-pressured, honest and professional approach of the experienced design team who we dealt with, namely Julia and Lois. The initial design cleverly embraced the quite challenging features of our space, which was (or was to be) very long, high and quite narrow. It was crucial to ensure that the two spaces, when knocked into one, felt seamless and yet had 2 distinct zones; kitchen part and relaxing/family area. The final design not only exactly captured our brief but definitely added extra finesse to the finished kitchen. We were even able to visit the factory in Blyth and view our cabinetry production which enhanced our understanding and appreciation of the quality of the materials and workmanship involved. Importantly Julia liaised with our building team (Marley Building and Joinery Limited) on a regular basis to ensure that the process was as painless as possible. Mowlem’s choice of companies and trades to fit and hand paint the cabinets, worktops and mirror splash back was first class. A measurement error came to light quite late in the process but was immediately dealt with and professionally rectified with minimum disruption that caused no delay to proceedings. The finished kitchen continues to enrich our daily life, practically, emotionally and aesthetically…Can’t wait for Christmas!

We engaged Mowlem & Co to fit out our kitchen when we moved into our present house 20 years ago. It proved to be an excellent investment and has served our family and visitors well over that time. We recently decided to make some changes to the kitchen and had no hesitation but to engage Mowlem's again. Many of the units only required re-painting and some more up to date fittings, some beautiful new units were added, and some of the appliances, although still serviceable, were replaced with more modern appliances. All the work was carried out promptly and to our total satisfaction. We were impressed with the initial design work and with the craftsmen who expertly carried out the work. We would particularly mention the specialist painter who also carried out the painting of the original kitchen 20 Years ago! He remembered the kitchen immediately when he walked in ! We now have a beautiful and modern kitchen which will no doubt last another 20 years. We have no hesitation in recommending Mowlem & Co for similar work.
