My Fathers Heart

After many years of putting off the refurbishment of our kitchen, because we couldn’t face the disruption and didn’t really know where to start to organise such a big project, we recently got My Father’s Heart to do the work for us. We now wish that we’d got them to do it years ago! The team are experienced, practical and straightforward with their advice, so from the start we were clear about our options and were soon able to make our choice of design, style of cabinets and other associated goods. The works involved electrics, plastering, flooring, plumbing and decorating as well as the installation of the units. The team arranged all the additional works with trusted businesses that they’ve used for decades and everything went so smoothly, you’d have thought that they were all working for the same company. Everyone who worked on the project was, without exception, friendly, considerate, clean and tidy and accommodating of our family’s particular needs. They all turned up on time, on the day they said they would, with no delays in between and the job was all but complete inside of the 3 weeks we were given as the projected duration of the works. Not cheap, but we knew we’d only have this work done once and we believe we’ve “got what we paid for” in terms of quality and workmanship. We highly recommend them to others.

Very professional company and a pleasure to work with. We purchased a Siematic kitchen from MFH, quite a large project and the first time we have used this company so I was a little nervous. I didn't need to worry, Chrissi listened carefully to our requests and produced a creative design which looks superb and suits the house perfectly. Chrissi has great attention to detail and Jonathan managed the schedule efficiently, snags are inevitable with a project this size but all were dealt with quickly and effectively without fuss. All of the trades people working on the project were professional, helpful and showed great pride. Graham and Aaron are real craftsmen and the results reflect this. Very happy with MFH and the Siematic Kitchen.

The whole process from initial consultation to the final completion was handled very professionally. The designer listened carefully to how we used the kitchen and produced an initial design. After a few modifications we were more than satisfied with the proposal. The work was project managed efficiently and a timetable for the work was provided. We were informed if there were any changes as the work progressed. Not only were all the trades people very skilled in their work but were also helpful and kept the mess to a minimum. We are delighted with the outcome.

Appalling company to do business with. Only paid after we threatened legal action. An extremely unprofessional, time-wasting managing director who appears to have nothing better to do with his time than to make up bizarre and spurious excuses to try and knock amounts off supplier invoices. My Fathers Heart (in collaboration with their architectural design partner) contracted my company to make 2 resin tables on behalf of a customer of theirs in Carlton-in-Lindrick. They supplied the timber themselves as they had already purchased it, they also estimated the amount of resin needed. It turns out the timbers weren’t fully seasoned or kiln dried and were cupping and sapping badly. Despite the timber being a nightmare to work with, we persevered, and the first table was completed and delivered to their customer. Their architectural designer posted on Instagram: “…this beautiful bespoke 4 metre dining table has now arrived in the client’s home, such an amazing piece to finish off the open plan kitchen and dining area. Stunning as usual…” After more difficulties with the second table (again due to sapping and cupping) we completed it and on the 11th of May their architectural designer posted on Instagram: “…Another bespoke dining table complete to adorn the dining area of our client’s home. An amazing piece of cedar wood finished with a black/grey metallic resin…”. So, no dispute that they were very happy indeed with the tables, (photos attached) but when it came to paying, that was a different matter. MD, Jonathon Coulthard tried to get additional items that he’d already approved weeks before, deducting from our invoice. It seems he has very little grasp of what he approves on projects and what he doesn’t. When it was pointed out that he’d already approved them he tried another tack. He tried to deduct £204 + Vat to cover the costs of HIS OWN van driver delivering HIS OWN substandard timbers to OUR workshop. He then attempted to charge us £41.82 + Vat for a FULL tin of varnish that he’d supplied, we’d used 25% of, and he’d taken the reminder back! And most bizarrely of all, he wanted to charge us for the clear air zone charges that HIS OWN van had incurred in coming out of Sheffield! In almost 40 years of business, I’ve never come across such an unprofessional and inept individual running a company. I wouldn’t recommend My Fathers Heart Ltd to anyone under any circumstances.

A truly amazing experience for a kitchen refit - from overall design (ideas on innovation and practicality) through to the installation and completion. I can only praise the whole team for the delivery of a fabulous kitchen - special thanks to : 1. Chrissi (designer), I am truly blown away with the look and general practical working of the kitchen 2. Installation team, for a superb end result attention to detail and craftsmanship is 2nd to non 3. Artisan Stone, amazing worktop and again the quality and finish is amazing ....and finally to Jonathan for pulling all this together and delivering a kitchen of exquisite quality - as you originally told me it would be :) So thank you all vert much (Before and after pictures )
