Oakes Interiors

Really happy with the service and finish quality of our built-in desk and storage. Great communication and regular updates throughout. Highly recommend!

I hate to leave a negative review for a small business, but I would strongly recommend avoiding Oakes Interiors. After a promising start, Guy abandoned our project halfway through and has not returned to complete the work. Guy came recommended by another contractor we were working with, and we initially found him thoughtful and helpful when discussing a somewhat unusual job. He accepted the work willingly and began several weeks later. After some good progress, we needed a plumber to complete some essential work before Guy could continue. He agreed to return the following week, saying the timing worked well as he had another small job in the meantime. The plumbing was completed on time and as expected. Unfortunately, after I paid Guy for the work done so far, that was the last we saw of him. He was due back at the end of February. After several polite follow-ups, he eventually responded to apologise and promised to return “within a few weeks.” I remained understanding and patient, assuming the delay was temporary. It is now mid-June, and after endless ignored messages and multiple no-shows for dates he himself arranged, I’ve effectively been ghosted. I'm left with an unfinished room I cannot use, and it's been extremely difficult — and likely costly — to find another tradesperson willing to complete the half-finished work. To be clear, Guy was always courteous and professional in person, and the quality of his work and materials was very good. However, based on our experience, I cannot recommend Oakes Interiors due to serious concerns around reliability, communication, and overall professionalism. If you're reading this review, it means Guy has still not returned to make the situation right.

Working with Guy has been an exceptional experience! From start to finish, he collaborated with us to bring our dream marketing studio to life. Guy's attention to detail and craftsmanship is unparalleled, and we are truly impressed with the work he completed for us. From the bespoke arches with integrated lighting to the smart storage solutions, mini kitchen, and our custom-designed table, the office space has exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s everything we envisioned and more. If you're looking to partner with a local business for your home or business carpentry needs, we wholeheartedly recommend Guy without hesitation. THANK YOU!! ☁️✨

What a fantastic experience! We needed a bespoke bookcase to house my massive collection of cookbooks and Guy delivered! We were having a complete renovation of our kitchen/diner and needed the bookcase to be on top of 2 base units. Guy came to measure up and talk to us about our needs and preferences, and produced something beyond my wildest dreams. I couldn’t have imagined anything better…

Absolutely thrilled with the work carried out by Oakes Interiors! From start to finish, Guy exceeded all expectations. We had a complicated brief, but Guy took it on with professionalism and skill, delivering results that were exactly what we wanted. Every detail was meticulously crafted, and the quality of work is second to none. Communication was clear, and the project was completed on time. We couldn't be more satisfied with the finished product and highly recommend Oakes Interiors to anyone looking for expert craftsmanship. Truly exceptional work!
