My wife Catherine and I were looking to install a new kitchen in our house. Our original one was about 30 years old so we were way out of touch with current designs etc.
We tried a few local kitchen installers, but what we wanted was inspiration not a modern re-run of our old kitchen. We live in NE London and travel into central London quite often and so the Wigmore Street branch of Tom Howley was the easiest to get to.
We visited the store and was spoken to by Richard Horrocks one of their sales team. He was very helpful and what attracted us toTom Howley was the fact that they had a core number of current designs which could be adapted and personalised dependant on what you wanted.
Richard visited our house and then came up with suggestions and layout options. We then returned to the store later to view the design drawings that had been made to show us the new kitchen and utility room.
We were very happy with the basic design and went ahead with the process.
We then spent nearly two whole days with Richard in store going through the design item by item. On the day we did ovens etc Richard even took us to John Lewis just around the corner to look at fridges etc. He also took us across to the Miele showroom which is a stone’s throw away and showed us their range of kitchen equipement. He suggested that we do a taster lunch at the Miele showroom to
find out how best to use the Miele ovens and hob that we eventually picked. Well worth the effort,a great lunch and very informative.
We spent loads of time picking worktops and even went to the Chelsea Tom Howley branch to see different ones in situ. When we were in the showroom we were offered tea, coffee and sandwhiches by the reception staff. Special mention to Victoria who even offered one day to walk us to the tube station with an umbrella as it was raining.
Did we have any problems during the installation ? Yes we did, but only over minor issues which you would get in any building project. All solveable with a bit of compromise and effort.
When it all turns up on the day it is a frightening amount of stuff, but the delivery guys were great and got it all in without any mishaps (4 of them altogether).
Our installer Shahid was really fast and efficient. Came up with some excellent ideas about the fitting and helped us with aspects of the fitting we hadn’t thought about. Our builders sorted all the construction work prior to installation. All happened to schedule.
Our kitchen is now two years old and was it worth the time and money ? It most certainly was.
Not for everyone, but we are more than pleased that we dealt with this showroom. Obviously can’t dispute other people’s experience of Tom Howley, but we are more than pleased with the outcome, even two years plus down the line.

The design process was amazing. The quality of the kitchen is fab.
However, the after care service is a total disaster!
It’s been over a month since the kitchen was fitted.
There bits missing. These items arrived today, only to discover they are the wrong bits.
Part of the kitchen was send in the wrong colour and they were not going to send a painter till a month after installation.
When you speak to the head office, they promise they will sort situations out, but they never get back to you.
The communication is horrendous.

The process of designing and fitting our new kitchen with Tom Howley was fun and relatively smooth. We visited their offices at Wigmore Street and were impressed by the quality of the kitchens. We were also happy to hear that the kitchens units were made in the UK and were bespoked for each kitchen. Richard Horrocks was appointed as our kitchen designer. He visited our house, rather than working off drawings as other companies tend to. Richard was a good listener, gave us good ideas (such as underfloor heating) and after a few iterations came up with a great design. Six months after installation we are delighted with our kitchen: the design, quality of units and ease of use. We were impressed by Richard Horrocks and Tom Howley in general.

This is an excellent showroom. We walked in to have a look and were shown around really insightfully. The displays showcase a good range of what Tom Howley offers and provides a solid first step in kitchen design ideas.
We then progressed to a design appointment with Emily Rumble who was excellent from start to finish. We found her to be both thoughtful and innovative. Her design and the presentation was first class and demonstrated that she had really listened to what we wanted in a kitchen, as well as thought about what would work for our lifestyles and family - many things that we had not thought about ourselves. Emily’s explanations as to why the company do things in certain ways showed a genuine understanding of materials, appliances and interior design. Her approach is knowledgeable and engaging. I really cannot recommend her enough.

We had a wonderful experience with Emily Rumble at Tom Howley. From the moment we walked in Emily was a total professional. It was important to us that the designs were delivered in a timely manner and Emily had everything ready in a week! The presentation she gave us was brilliant and we truly understood how the kitchen would look.
After that the experience with her never faltered, she was brilliant at responding to emails and coordinating with our other suppliers.
The design itself was perfect. Emily thought of every detail and knew exactly what questions to ask. She also wasn't shy of discouraging us from certain choices that she knew wouldn't work.
We are currently in the process of having the kitchen fitted and it looks amazing. Big thank you to Emily and the team!
