Would give zero stars if we could, we’re gutted with how our bathroom turned out. Save your hard-earned money and go elsewhere; I sure wish we had! By the time we started experiencing problems with the bathroom, we’d had it for less than a year, and the whole experience has sadly been a total disaster from start to finish. My dad is an experienced plumber of 40+ years and fitted the suite for us, but the minute we reported problems to Wickes and they heard it wasn’t one of their own fitters, they didn’t want to know.
The biggest issue is the quality of the materials. Within just seven months, some of the white wall tiles started turning blue! It is clear they are porous and absorbing water from the shower, which quickly led to mould gathering on the grout. Despite using all the appropriate sealants, customer services and the complaints team flat-out refused to help, claiming it was “outside of warranty” (despite being 10 months since installation) and blaming the fact they didn't install it. They tried to withhold the manufacturer’s details from us; I eventually had to go into the store and find the name printed on a box of tiles on the shelf myself to get this information. We are now facing the massive expense of having the entire wall retiled on a bathroom that already cost us thousands. We went round in circles with them "investigating" if the tiles needed sealing, even though their own website explicitly states they do not.
The after care is sadly non existent. They stopped caring the moment they realised we hadn’t taken out finance via them or used their fitters. From my initial email regarding the porous tiles, I had to chase every single interaction. Emails went unanswered for days, and phone calls were a joke - I was constantly told no one was available to help me.
The delivery was a total nightmare. The sink (which was a specific small size to fit our room couldn’t be sourced elsewhere) was “lost” by the courier twice. When it finally arrived, it was cracked and chipped, which delayed our entire installation as we had to wait for another to be dispatched from Turkey and “out of stock”. The shower never arrived at all because it was “out of stock,” despite them letting us order and pay for it. The bath they put on the plans (after coming to our house to measure up) turned out to be the wrong size, too small for the space, meaning we had to build a tile shelf behind it that wasn't even on the original plan. Even the extractor fan arrived open and faulty. They initially refused to refund it until I had a massive argument with them, after which they collected it from us as a “manager exception.” Why a refund for a faulty item is considered an "exception" is beyond me. The bath panel was the wrong size, we had to argue a refund on this too.
As for the "free design plan," it wasn’t fit for purpose, which is clear now. The advisor originally put the sink flush against the wall with no gap, which would have been completely non-functional as there was no space for a hand towel loop. The bathroom isn't "custom fit" like they lead you to believe; it’s just standard sizes that you have to hack down to fit their weird plans. The quality is honestly no better than Lego. Everything arrived in multiple deliveries over the course of a week (despite us booking a delivery DAY) and I had to spend my time calling the store to find out where things were as it was such a stressful process, despite telling us they manage the whole delivery.
I’m sure they’ll reply asking us to contact them but this will lead nowhere, as demonstrated by them so far. We were sold a product that is not fit for purpose and have no choice now but to pursue our case with Trading Standards and the Ombudsman. Avoid this company at all costs.

I’ve been using the Wickes in Chelmsford at Baynes Place quite frequently lately, and it’s a solid setup for both trade and DIY. As the owner of MJK Roofing, having a reliable branch in this part of town is essential for picking up those last-minute building materials or heavy-duty supplies between jobs. The layout is much improved from the old site; everything is logical, well-stocked, and easy to find, which is a massive time-saver when you’re on a tight schedule.
One of the best things about this specific Chelmsford branch is the TradePro service. The 10% discount really adds up over the course of a project, and the staff at the trade desk actually seem to know their stuff, which isn't always the case with big retailers. The parking is decent too—I never have much trouble getting the MJK Roofing van into a space, even when it’s busy. Whether you're looking for timber, insulation, or specialist tools, it’s a very convenient one-stop shop.
The click-and-collect service is also surprisingly fast here; I’ve ordered materials on my way to a site and had them ready to load within 30 minutes. It's great to have a dependable merchant in Chelmsford that supports local tradespeople. Highly recommended if you want quality materials without the hassle.

I couldn’t be happier with my new Wickes bathroom. Beautifully designed by Anthony Marshall who had lots of ideas as to what would or wouldn’t work and then fitted by Paul and Andy who went out of their way to do the best job possible. Would definitely recommend.

After ordering our kitchen on 9th September 2025, we were promised it would be completed before Christmas, which was particularly important as my wife and I are expecting our first baby, so wanted the “nest” ready. However, 156 days later (over five months), the installation is still not complete.
At the point of sale, we were assured this would be a straightforward 2–3 week job. In reality, the process has been anything but simple, largely due to repeated delays, incorrect parts being ordered and ongoing issues from Wickes.
We were even left in a position where we would have had no functioning tap over the Christmas period, having already been without one since 14 November because the fitter was unsure how to install it. As a result, we had to pay £200 for an emergency plumber and forgo our warranty on that unit due to their inefficiency. Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain a receipt, so we don’t think this cost will be reimbursed, despite asking and despite already having paid £8,127 in installation fees. With this in mind, when purchasing a kitchen be mindful about the accuracy of the specialist works quote, which in our case increased from £1,502 to £4,252.
It is extremely disappointing that, while payments were taken promptly, delivery and completion have fallen significantly short of what was promised. The lack of urgency and consideration for the impact on customers, particularly those in challenging personal circumstances, has been frustrating.
I do feel sympathy for the complaints team, who appear overwhelmed, which suggests one thing, it isn’t just me in this boat.
In summary, our experience has left us with little confidence in the pricing, timelines, and assurances provided. I would highly avoid if there is another option on the table!

I’ve designed and purchased a kitchen with Anthony. He’s been amazing with the advice along the way. The prices were reasonable and overall finish of the kitchen is very good, im pleased!
There was a minor issue with the dishwasher but wicks got onto the AEG engineer who replaces a part and all is working. Very good customer service throughout the process. Thank you Wickes!
